COURSE OVERVIEW

This overview of the WELL Building Standard presentation demonstrates the focus, structure, and certification process of creating truly healthy buildings. Although not focused as much on the reduction of natural resource consumption, human health and comfort have huge impacts on a building’s bottom line when considering life—cycle cost. This presentation will introduce how to do this using the WELL Building Standard as the framework.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Identify the roles of the International Well Building Institute and the Green Building Certification Institute in the WELL Building Standard Certification.
  2. Understand how the societal and occupancy benefits of WELL certification translate into reduced life—cycle cost.
  3. Articulate the basic the structure of the WELL Building Standard be able to explain the seven concepts.
  4. Summarize the certification process of the WELL Building Standard.
