Right Sized: Loads, Diversity, and Systems

COURSE OVERVIEW

The purpose of this course is to help architects and owners understand the value of right—sizing equipment, the risks of over—sizing, and the process for getting the design right.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand the importance of HVAC loads in the success of the building.
  2. Summarize the common reasons for over—sizing and the negative impacts of doing so.
  3. Understand the impacts of climate and internal gains on loads.
  4. Learn what systems are available to help mitigate the risk of poor energy performance, indoor air quality, and building durability after the loads are finalized.
