COURSE OVERVIEW

California is leading the nation in energy efficient and sustainable construction, which is fostered by their statewide green construction code. This presentation will introduce the audience to California’s Green Building Standards Code more commonly known as CALGreen. By the end of the presentation, audience members will have learned about the purpose of the code (why it was put into effect), the structure and and scope of the code, and will be given an overview of Mandatory and Voluntary requirements.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand the purpose of the California Green Building Standards Code.
  2. Understand the scope of the code and what authority has jurisdiction over certain building types.
  3. Be able to Identify the code sections and understand the structure of the code.
  4. Understand Mandatory requirements as well as select voluntary requirements commonly adopted by AHJs.
